This morning at Baabda Palace, General Joseph Aoun, President of the Republic, communicated to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres Lebanon’s commitment to ensuring the withdrawal of Israeli forces from its occupied southern territories by the deadline established in the agreement dated November 27.

President Aoun emphasized that ongoing Israeli incursions by land and air, including the shelling of homes and devastation of border villages, are in direct contradiction to the ceasefire agreement. He stated that these actions constitute an ongoing violation of Lebanese sovereignty and disregard the international community’s efforts to reestablish stability in southern Lebanon.

President Michel Aoun described United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres’ visit to Lebanon, taking place just a week after his presidential election, as “a message of hope” for the Lebanese people. President Aoun expressed gratitude to UN organizations for their comprehensive support to Lebanon, commendably recognizing the crucial role of international peacekeeping forces stationed in the south. He acknowledged their resilience amidst Israeli assaults on peacekeeping centers and paid homage to the fallen “UNIFIL” members. Furthermore, President Aoun emphasized the importance of continued coordination with the Lebanese army.

President Aoun has brought to attention the matter of Israeli actions leading to the burning of agricultural lands in southern regions, seeking assistance from the United Nations, particularly the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), to aid farmers in reclaiming the productive status of their lands.

Former Lebanese President Michel Aoun highlighted the Lebanese army’s preparedness to take over control immediately following the withdrawal of Israeli forces. He also appealed for United Nations support to facilitate the repatriation of displaced Syrians, emphasizing that the political and security circumstances that prompted their exodus have been resolved.

**Alleged Israeli Transgressions**

On Saturday, Israeli forces persisted in breaching the ceasefire agreement in southern Lebanon, postponing their withdrawal from the region and hindering the deployment of Lebanese military units in the border towns.

In this context, Israeli forces have moved into the outskirts of Bint Jbeil, as well as Wadli Slouki, Houla, Mais Al-Jabal, and the barrens of Al-Khiam. The operation involved land clearing, gunfire, house demolitions, and the confiscation of valuable items.
