Iranian Army poised to counter terrorist threats, pledges to dismantle adversaries’ grand illusions: Commander
A senior commander from the Islamic Republic of Iran Army has declared that the nation's military forces are fully prepared to counter any hostile actions directed at the country, irrespective of the scale or level of such threats.
Brigadier General Kioumars Heidari, Commander of the Army’s Ground Forces, declared on Monday that the nation’s Armed Forces are poised to dismantle any enemy’s illusions of grandeur. His remarks were made during the sidelines of a two-day military exercise in the northeastern city of Mashhad.
Heidari reported that a substantial deployment of military personnel and weaponry was actively participating in the anti-terrorism exercises.
A spokesperson cautioned that the Armed Forces possess formidable strength and preparedness, and vowed to decisively respond to any threats against national security.
Emphasizing the crucial role of regional and international counter-terrorism initiatives, Heidari urged allied and neighboring nations to collaborate in safeguarding regional security.
On Monday, the Iranian Army’s Ground Force initiated large-scale security, offensive, and counter-terrorism exercises in proximity to the nation’s borders and in extended areas. The operations saw the deployment of a comprehensive array of military equipment.
The exercises have successfully led to the capture of key leaders and high-ranking members of suspected terrorist organizations, in addition to conducting preemptive strikes on the positions of these groups beyond the nation’s borders.
The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic, comprising both the Army and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), have been persistently advancing their military capabilities and operational preparedness. This development aligns with directives issued by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
The military has pledged to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity against threats posed by adversaries of Iran.
