Iran army issues a cautionary message to external regional actors as naval exercises commence
The naval divisions of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) have initiated large-scale military exercises across the coastal waters of Iran's southern provinces of Bushehr and Khuzestan.
The military exercises, dubbed “Great Prophet Authority 19,” commenced on Friday throughout the northern and central regions of the strategically significant Persian Gulf waters. The operations were attended by the Navy’s Commander, Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri.
The commander has stated that the primary goals of the exercises are to “convey the message of peace and friendship” to neighboring nations and to enhance security in international maritime routes.
He stated that the region possesses the capability to ensure the security of the strategically significant Persian Gulf, in collaboration with neighboring nations, and remains resolute in the face of any potential threats.
Tangsiri emphasized that the exercises serve as a signal to nations outside the region, indicating that their presence destabilizes security and they are incapable of ensuring enduring stability in this strategically critical area.
He highlighted that cutting-edge technologies are set to be introduced during the exercises, noting, “Annually, new vessels and technological advancements are integrated into the drills. This year, we are deploying ships capable of achieving speeds of 75 and 90 knots, in addition to their ability to launch missiles and deploy mines.”
Unyielding Control
In a recent statement, Tangsiri declared that adversarial nations and those opposing the Iranian people should be aware of Iran’s strong resolve to resist any acts of intimidation. He emphasized that Iran is prepared to thwart any malicious schemes with determination and bravery.
The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic, encompassing both the Army and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), have been persistently advancing their military equipment and bolstering their combat preparedness in accordance with the directives of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
Military forces have pledged to uphold national sovereignty and territorial integrity amidst threats from adversaries of the Iranian nation.
