Iran Favors Dialogue: FM

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi underscored Tehran’s commitment to the policy of dialogue and interaction for the settlement of problems.

Araqchi and his Polish counterpart Radoslaw Sikorski talked about a range of bilateral, regional and international issues in a telephone conversation on Wednesday.

The Iranian foreign minister congratulated Poland on assuming the rotating presidency of the European Union and expressed hope for constructive engagement between Iran and the EU during Poland’s tenure.

Pointing to the ongoing talks between Iran and European troika, Araqchi emphasized Iran’s commitment to a dialogue-driven and interactive approach to resolving issues, while also being fully prepared for all scenarios.

The Polish foreign minister, for his part, described the history of 550 years of diplomatic ties and the century-old Treaty of Amity between Iran and Poland as a foundation for friendly relations.

Sikorski also expressed optimism about resolving the outstanding issues between Iran and the EU, including the nuclear issue, the Foreign Ministry’s website reported.
