Zionist regime airstrikes target southern Lebanon, violating ceasefire agreement

In a span of just 24 hours, Israeli forces have allegedly breached the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon, with the international community yet to take significant action.

The Israeli military announced on Friday that it had launched strikes against several targets in Lebanon’s Beqaa Valley. This action comes two months into the tenuous ceasefire with Lebanese resistance forces.

The military has reported that recent strikes targeted a Hezbollah facility equipped with subterranean infrastructure used for the development and production of weaponry. Additional sites along the Syrian-Lebanese border were also hit in the operation.

According to Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA), Israeli forces reportedly ignited a poultry farm in the vicinity of Tal Nahas on Thursday.

The agency has reported that Israeli artillery forces also launched an attack on the outskirts of the town of Shebaa, located in southern Lebanon.

Additional infractions were reported with a drone attack targeting the remnants of a previously demolished house, following earlier Israeli strikes, at the northern entrance of the town of Yahmar al-Shaqif on Wednesday night.

Israeli forces have reportedly continued operations involving the burning and destruction of residences in the area of Ras al-Dahr, located to the west of Meiss al-Jabal town.

Gunmen targeted a residence in the border town of Ramish and directed gunfire at Lebanese civilians and an ambulance associated with the Islamic Risala Scout Association near the entrance to Maroun al-Ras.

Reports indicate that an additional ambulance, tasked with transporting injured individuals, has been intercepted in the region.

On Wednesday evening, Israeli forces detained four Lebanese individuals who were inspecting their residence on the outskirts of Maroun al-Ras. In the same vicinity, two additional individuals sustained injuries from gunfire.

The National News Agency (NNA) has reported that Israeli forces have made an incursion of approximately 100 meters beyond the position held by the Lebanese army at the western entrance of Meiss al-Jabal. This advance has taken them past a United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) post in the area.

According to reports, an Israeli bulldozer, accompanied by a Merkava tank, circumvented the UNIFIL base and proceeded to construct earthen barricades along the road in the Mafailah neighborhood.

In a recent development, Israeli drones have been observed conducting low-altitude flights over Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, and its southern suburbs.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that eight individuals sustained injuries, with incidents occurring in Majdal Selim, where five people were affected, and in Maroun al-Ras, where two others were injured.

On Wednesday, Mohammad Raad, leader of Hezbollah’s Loyalty to the Resistance parliamentary bloc, delivered a sharp critique of the international community, accusing it of inaction in response to reported Israeli breaches of the ceasefire agreement.

He stated that the ongoing global disregard for the actions of this occupying force, coupled with its continued aggression, has encouraged Israel to further breach international and humanitarian norms, standards, and laws.

He emphasized the Lebanese populace’s “legitimate” right to defend against Israeli hostilities.

The occupying regime has agreed to a truce with Hezbollah following significant battlefield losses and an inability to meet its objectives in the conflict with Lebanon.

Lebanese health officials have announced that, commencing October 2023, Israeli strikes have resulted in the deaths of over 4,000 individuals and left more than 16,500 injured. Additionally, these attacks have caused the displacement of over 1 million people.
