TEN DAYS: Iran commenced a ten-day series of ceremonies to celebrate the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution’s victory

The Ten-Day Dawn celebrations have commenced in Iran, commemorating the 46th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, which led to the overthrow of the US-supported Pahlavi regime.

The nationwide festivities commenced on Friday, aligning with the 12th day of the solar calendar month of Bahman.

The anniversary commemorates the return of the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, following years spent in exile.

In commemoration of the occasion, motorcycle parades unfolded in the capital city of Tehran as well as in various other cities nationwide.

On Thursday, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, honored the legacy of Imam Khomeini with a visit to his mausoleum in Tehran.

Each year, Iranians commemorate the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution through the Ten-Day Dawn ceremonies, spanning from February 1 to 11. Throughout this period, citizens engage in a variety of events and activities to honor the historic occasion.

The Islamic Revolution, spearheaded by Imam Khomeini, was fueled by strong anti-imperialist sentiments. This movement emerged in response to the heavy reliance of the former Iranian monarch, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, on Western powers, particularly the United States.

Forty-six years ago, the Iranian populace successfully dismantled the Pahlavi monarchy, concluding over two millennia of monarchical governance. This pivotal moment in history ushered in the establishment of a republic grounded in Islamic principles and democratic values.
