Terrorist ‘israeli’ regime intensifies operations in the West Bank, resulting in the displacement of 26,000 Palestinians

The zionist military continues its extensive operations in Jenin, located in the occupied West Bank, resulting in significant infrastructure damage and the displacement of thousands of Palestinians, including residents of the nearby refugee camp.

According to reports from the Jenin Camp Media Committee, Israeli forces have demolished a minimum of 180 residences since the military operations commenced in the region, now ongoing for 17 days as of Thursday.

The committee reported that the ongoing offensive has resulted in the displacement of at least 15,000 residents from the Jenin refugee camp. This development follows a recent ceasefire that temporarily curbed Israeli hostilities against the Gaza Strip.

The continuous hostilities have resulted in the disruption of essential services, leading to school closures and leaving four hospitals without water, according to a report by Palestine’s official WAFA news agency. Jenin City is enduring dire circumstances as residents face water and electricity shortages.

According to reports from local media, Israeli forces have surrounded the Jenin Governmental Hospital. In response to critical water shortages in the region, Civil Defense teams are working in coordination with the city’s municipality to ensure water delivery to the affected areas.

Jenin Mayor Mohammad Jarrar has reported that the city is experiencing “complete paralysis,” with at least 25 fatalities occurring in Jenin since the start of last month.

The Israeli authorities persist in their military operations in various regions of the occupied West Bank, targeting the city of Tubas, the adjacent village of Tamoun, and the city of Tulkarm, according to local reports.

Earlier today, an Israeli drone carried out an airstrike in the town of Tamoun as part of a series of recent aerial attacks across the occupied West Bank.

Video footage emerging from Tulkarm on Thursday has revealed extensive damage to roads and infrastructure within the city’s refugee camp.

Farha Abu al-Haija, a representative of the Popular Committee in the Jenin Camp, reported that Israeli military operations have resulted in the displacement of approximately 26,000 Palestinians from Jenin and Tulkarm over the last two weeks.

Israeli forces have reportedly expelled families residing near the Jenin refugee camp, according to Abu al-Haija. In a significant operation, troops demolished a building consisting of 20 apartments, resulting in 200 individuals being displaced from their homes.

Abu al-Haija has highlighted a concerning rise in stress, anxiety, and fear among children, with many experiencing difficulties in sleeping. Some children have developed conditions such as involuntary urination and bouts of hysterical screaming, indicating severe psychological distress.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) has verified that significant sections of the Jenin refugee camp have been extensively demolished due to a string of Israeli explosions, with preliminary estimates indicating that over 100 homes have either been obliterated or severely damaged.

According to spokeswoman Juliette Touma, approximately 5,000 children have been impacted by the closure of 13 UNRWA schools located in the camp and its surrounding areas.

Israel’s continued military operations in the occupied West Bank occur concurrently with its persistent airstrikes on the Gaza Strip. These actions have resulted in significant casualties and infrastructural devastation since October 2023.

A ceasefire agreement between the Palestinian faction Hamas and Israel commenced on January 19, 2025, intended to halt over 15 months of intense conflict in the Gaza Strip. During this period, nearly 62,000 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, have lost their lives. The death toll is expected to increase as recovery efforts continue, uncovering more victims from the debris.

Despite the establishment of a ceasefire agreement, Israel has reportedly breached the terms through frequent airstrikes, sniper operations, and restrictions on aid deliveries. In contrast, Hamas has adhered to the stipulated terms of the accord.
