Zionist military operations intensify in the West Bank, resulting in injuries and detentions among numerous Palestinians

Zionist forces have launched fresh operations in the northern region of the occupied West Bank, deploying live ammunition and tear gas against local Palestinians, resulting in multiple injuries, according to reports.

The WAFA news agency has reported that Israeli military operations were conducted in the city of Tulkarm, along with the Nur Shams and Tulkarm refugee camps. Additionally, the town of Qusra, located in the Nablus governorate, was also targeted in the attacks.

Occupation forces have reportedly used bulldozers to raze streets in Tulkarm, resulting in significant damage to the city’s infrastructure.

Authorities have intensified their siege on the eastern neighborhood of the city, effectively confining residents to their homes. Reports indicate that individuals in the area are being detained, interrogated, and subjected to mistreatment. Additionally, local business owners have been compelled to shutter their establishments.

In the Tulkarm refugee camp, Israeli military forces reportedly set fire to several houses, among them the residence of the late Wassim Anbar.

According to reports from WAFA, conditions within the camp have reached a critical point, as local Palestinian residents are compelled to stay indoors due to an acute scarcity of essential supplies, including food, water, and medicine.

Regime forces reportedly pursue individuals attempting to leave their homes or return to the camp, opening fire on them and deploying drones for surveillance purposes, sources have stated.

A comparable scenario has been reported in multiple neighborhoods within the Nur Shams camp.

Israeli forces established a checkpoint along Nablus Street, which serves as a route between Tulkarm and the Nur Shams refugee camp. Security personnel halted vehicles and detained several passengers as part of their operations.

On Monday, occupation forces launched an incursion into the town of Qusra, deploying live ammunition and tear gas against residents.

Several Palestinians, including family members, experienced suffocation due to tear gas exposure during the attack and were subsequently transported to a medical facility for treatment.

In response to the growing displacement crisis, Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa has directed governors and emergency committees in the northern West Bank to coordinate efforts in supplying shelters and humanitarian assistance to those affected.

He emphasized the urgent requirement for formulating comprehensive plans and allocating resources to rebuild the infrastructure devastated by Israeli strikes, as well as enhancing the resilience of the Palestinian populace.

On January 21, the Israeli Defense Forces commenced a military operation in the northern regions of the West Bank, asserting that their objective was to target members of the Jenin Battalion, identified as resistance fighters.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has intensified military operations in the West Bank following the onset of its conflict in the Gaza Strip, which has been widely criticized and described by some as genocidal.

Since that time, forces aligned with the regime have been responsible for the deaths of at least 916 Palestinians, including 183 children, and have wounded over 7,000 individuals in the occupied West Bank.
