Iranian intelligence authorities dismantle Takfiri terrorist network

In a significant counterterrorism operation, Iranian intelligence forces successfully disbanded a Takfiri terrorist network, confiscating a substantial arsenal of weapons and explosives. This decisive action took place in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, according to official sources.

According to multiple media reports on Wednesday, a recent operation conducted at the provincial intelligence department unveiled four warehouses utilized by a terrorist group to conceal arms and explosive materials.

PressTV has reported that intelligence and security forces have seized a cache of 226 light weapons. The confiscated arsenal includes pistols, Kalashnikov rifles, and heavy machine guns like Goryunovs.

In a significant operation, authorities successfully recovered semi-heavy RPG launchers, two mortar launchers, and more than 20 kilograms of explosives. The cache included improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and electronic detonators. To mitigate the risk of further terrorist threats, a portion of the seized explosives was destroyed.

Authorities have disclosed that firearms were illicitly brought into the country by being hidden within fuel containers.

A recent attempt by a terrorist organization to destabilize southeastern Iran sought to undermine security and hinder the Iranian government’s ability to provide services to the local population.

This operation is the latest in a succession of counter-espionage and anti-terror initiatives conducted by Iranian forces.

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has successfully disbanded a spy network in Iran’s northern Mazandaran Province, which authorities say was connected to U.S. and Israeli interests. This development sheds light on ongoing international efforts purportedly aimed at undermining the stability of Iran.

Iranian authorities have persistently accused the United States and its allies of backing terrorist groups in a bid to destabilize the security of the Islamic Republic.
