Zionist cabinet approves decision enabling the military to mobilize 400,000 reservists

Zionist cabinet has sanctioned the extension of a special directive, granting the military the authority to enlist up to 400,000 reservists by the conclusion of May 2025.

The Israeli cabinet has sanctioned the prolongation of a special directive enabling the country’s military forces to enlist up to 400,000 reservists by May 2025.

On Sunday, Israel halted the progression of its ceasefire agreement with the Hamas resistance group, fueling speculation about the potential renewal of conflict in the Gaza Strip.

According to a document obtained, 2025 has been officially designated as the “year of war.”

On October 7, 2023, Israel initiated a military offensive in Gaza following a significant operation by Hamas. This move by Hamas was a response to what it described as increased aggressive actions by Israel against Palestinians.

The Israeli government did not meet its stated goals of liberating hostages and eradicating Hamas, despite the casualties of at least 48,388 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, in Gaza.

Israel has agreed to long-held negotiation terms set forth by Hamas as part of a three-phase truce regarding the situation in Gaza, which commenced on January 19.

In the initial phase that concluded on Saturday, a total of 33 Israeli hostages, among them eight bodies, were traded for the release of 1,737 Palestinian detainees from Israeli prisons.

Israel has pressed for the prolongation of the initial phase of discussions, while Hamas is advocating for a transition to the second phase. This phase would involve the release of all remaining Israeli captives, the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, and a lasting cessation of hostilities. Hamas has stated that any future exchanges of captives with Israel are contingent upon the advancement to the second stage of ceasefire talks.

Hamas has criticized Israel for what it describes as “continuous manipulation” following Israel’s proposal to extend the initial phase of the ceasefire.

On Sunday, Israeli authorities imposed a comprehensive blockade on the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.

A senior official from Hamas, Mahmoud Mardawi, declared in a statement that the route to achieving regional stability and facilitating the release of prisoners hinges on the comprehensive execution of the current agreement, beginning with its second phase.

Hamas is advocating for the second phase of discussions to encompass negotiations aimed at establishing a permanent ceasefire, a full withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, and the reconstruction of the territory. Additionally, they are calling for the release of prisoners as part of a mutually agreed-upon arrangement. “This is our unwavering stance, and we refuse to retreat from it,” a representative stated.
