ISIS (ISIL) Loses More Ground in East Homs; Syrian Special Forces Capture Al-Jazal
The Syrian Arab Army’s Special Forces brigade, the “Desert Hawks” in cooperation with a contingent from the 18th Tank Division – launched an assault on ISIS at the Al-Jazal Oil Wells in east Homs on Wednesday.
Overwhelmed and undermanned, ISIS was unable to withstand the Desert Hawks onslaught; this resulted in the complete withdrawal of the enemy combatants entrenched near these oil wells.
Due to the enemy combatants withdrawing from Al-Jazal, the oil wells in this area were partially destroyed by the fleeing militants before the Desert Hawks could arrive on the scene.
According to a military source in the Homs Governorate, the ISIS field commander “Nabeel Al-Trablosi” (Libyan from Tripoli) was killed during the firefight with the Desert Hawks, along with 19 of his combatants.
Meanwhile, at Jabal Al-Sha’ar (Poet Mountains), the 18th Tank Division and the Desert Hawks continued their offensive to capture Well 105, killing 13 militants from ISIS and destroying three of their armored vehicles mounted with doshkas.
