A high-ranking Israeli intelligence officer steps down due to Gaza war failures
A senior officer within the Israeli intelligence community, affiliated with the Gaza Division, has reportedly stepped down from his position, according to various media sources.
An unnamed officer has resigned due to what has been characterized as the Israeli regime’s inability to meet its objectives in the Gaza conflict, notably including overcoming the Palestinian Resistance Movement, Hamas, according to a report from Palestine’s Sama News Agency on Sunday.
The resignation comes amid a series of similar incidents within the Israeli military in recent months, although specific details surrounding this particular case have not been disclosed.
Brigadier General Haim Cohen, who has been serving as the Commanding Officer of the Northern Gaza Brigade, has recently vacated his post. This development follows the resignation of Intelligence Officer Avi Rosenfeld, who stepped down from his position earlier this summer.
On October 7, 2023, Israel launched a military operation in Gaza with the declared objective of dismantling Hamas. This action came in response to Hamas’s earlier unprecedented Al Aqsa Storm Operation targeting southern areas under Israeli control.
Over a year since the onset of the conflict, Hamas continues its operations, with its combatants engaged in intense confrontations with Israeli forces in Gaza. The group asserts its actions are aimed at defending the territory from aggressive assaults by Israeli forces.
