Activists in Mexico mobilize to protest forthcoming anti-immigration measures from the Trump administration

Migrant advocacy organizations in Mexico have staged protests against the proposed immigration policies of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump. The demonstration, held at the U.S.-Mexico border wall in Tijuana, featured activists symbolically striking a piñata modeled after Trump, as a form of dissent against his anticipated measures.

Ahead of Donald Trump’s inauguration, groups convened at the US-Mexico border fence on the beaches of Tijuana on Sunday.

Protesters have draped banners along the border wall in opposition to potential restrictive measures anticipated from a prospective second term by the Trump administration.

Protesters have called on former President Donald Trump to reconsider his decision to halt the CBP One initiative, a program designed to streamline the asylum application process in the United States.

Former President Donald Trump has committed to implementing more stringent border controls and enhanced immigration enforcement measures, including the initiation of a large-scale deportation operation on the first day of his prospective presidency.
