Al-Ahli Hospital Bombing: Zionist Enemy Targets Last Operational Health Facility in North Gaza

Israeli forces have carried out a substantial assault on al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza City, the remaining operational medical facility in the northern region. The strike resulted in the destruction of the hospital's emergency unit, main entrance, and a vital facility that contained medical oxygen essential for intensive care patients.

Reports indicate that in the aftermath of Sunday’s attack, critically ill patients have been left abandoned on the streets, as the largest operational hospital in northern Gaza has ceased functioning.

According to emergency doctor Razan al-Nahhas in Gaza, at least three individuals, including a 12-year-old boy suffering from a head injury, have been confirmed dead after being forcibly evacuated from Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza City.

According to al-Nahhas in Deir el-Balah, three patients reliant on oxygen were escorted by their family to a nearby small hospital, which lacked the capacity to handle the influx of patients. Unfortunately, the patients were pronounced dead upon arrival.

The situation on the streets is dire, with an overwhelming number of patients and makeshift mats extending all the way to Al Shifa. The scene is chaotic, as patients and their families desperately navigate the streets in search of medical assistance. Sadly, the grim reality is that many may not survive this harrowing ordeal.

Al-Nahhas reported that numerous individuals at al-Ahli are suffering from critical injuries.

A hospital spokesperson reported that most of the admissions are due to patients suffering from traumatic and explosive injuries.

The situations involve individuals suffering from numerous limb amputations, as well as those with severe trauma to the chest, abdomen, or head. Additionally, “a significant number of burn victims” are among those affected, she noted.

The patients in question are considered high-risk and require careful monitoring. They should not be placed in situations where they are left to navigate the streets in a vulnerable state, attempting to locate alternative medical facilities.

Hamas has accused Israel of perpetrating a “new war crime,” escalating tensions and drawing international attention to the ongoing conflict. The accusation underscores the severity of the hostilities and has prompted calls for an investigation into the alleged actions.

The Palestinian faction Hamas has characterized the Israeli strike on the al-Ahli Hospital as a “new war crime,” accusing the Israeli military of disregarding humanitarian laws and international norms.

The statement further attributes responsibility for the “brutal crime” to the United States.

Israel is reportedly operating with the diplomatic support of the United States, while Washington is obstructing international efforts to enforce accountability, according to sources.

Authorities in Gaza have denounced the attack, reporting that al-Ahli Hospital was caring for hundreds of patients at the time it was bombed.

Verified footage capturing the moment of the Israeli forces’ bombing of al-Ahli Hospital reveals a massive fireball and plume of smoke ascending into the sky, accompanied by the sound of a powerful explosion.

The footage depicts displaced Palestinians, among them children, seeking refuge in the aftermath of recent events.

Footage captured in the aftermath of the attack depicts rescue personnel at the al-Ahli Hospital, sifting through debris of the bombed structure in search of survivors.

Al-Nahhas reported that patients in northern Gaza are left without refuge following the Israeli strike on al-Ahli Hospital.

The Government Media Office in Gaza has released a report listing 35 hospitals, including al-Ahli Hospital, that have been targeted by Israeli forces amid the hostilities that commenced on October 7, 2023.

During its ongoing conflict, the Israeli military has consistently focused on hospitals in Gaza, asserting that these locations are used by resistance fighters as “command centers.” However, these allegations have been made without any supporting evidence.

Recent assaults have further debilitated the already overstretched healthcare system in Gaza, exacerbating the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the beleaguered area. Reports indicate that over 50,900 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, have lost their lives amid continuous Israeli bombardments.
