Aleppo: Jabhat Al-Nusra Suffers Devastating Losses at Al-Zahra and Nubl
Over the last 5 days, the Al-Nusra Front (Jabhat Al-Nusra) has sustained substantially high losses during their siege of the villages of Al-Zahra and Nubl. According to a military source, a total of 179 dead militants from the Al-Nusra Front and Jaysh Al-Mujahiddeen have been counted since Monday. Among these casualties were many foreigners and field commanders, including the leader of the Al-Nusra Front operation at Nubl, “Abu Khataab Al-‘Uzbeki” – he was identified by a captured militant.
Earlier today, the Al-Nusra Front attempted to breakthrough Hezbollah and National Defense Forces (NDF) frontlines at the Associations Quarter in northeast Nubl; however, they were repelled by heavy artillery and the persistent aerial bombardment from the Syrian Arab Air Force’s (SAAF) hind helicopters. The people of Nubl and Al-Zahra have relied on these same helicopters to airdrop supplies due to the villages’ isolation from Syrian Government supply lines.
