Amir-Abdollahian: Muslim world sharing common stance on Palestine
Special advisor of the speaker of parliament for international affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said on Wednesday that the world of Islam shares common stances on Palestine.
‘The US wants to play with Syria card in its presidential elections,’ said Amir-Abdollahian in a meeting with Syrian Ambassador to Tehran Adnan Mahmoud here on Wednesday.
The former deputy foreign minister for Arab and African affairs pointed to Tehran’s policy for promotion of friendly exchanges with Muslim countries, and said the Islamic Republic of Iran’s strategy is based on all-out broadening of cooperation with Muslim countries and the parliament of Iran seeks promotion of parliamentary ties with the Muslim countries.
He then warned against the danger of the Takfiri ideology and Extremism for regional security and tranquility, and said cooperation between the Iranian and Syrian parliaments to this end will be highly helpful and effective.
Amir-Abdollahian emphasized that Washington has so far not offered any effective help in campaign against terrorism, rather it has caused escalation of terrorist moves in the region.
He said that Tehran will continue with its effective support for Syria in fighting terrorism and focusing on the diplomatic mechanism while believing that Syria has only diplomatic breakthrough.
‘However, as long as terrorists change their image and seek their dirty objectives in Syria, the diplomatic solution will be futile.’
Amir-Abdollahian went on to say that cooperation between Tehran and Moscow in helping the government, army and people of Syria to fight terrorism will send a firm message to supporters of terrorism, that is the cooperation will continue.
Mahmoud, for his part, referred to Iran’s important role as Syria’s ally in fighting terrorism, and said that the Islamic Republic of Iran has been pioneering campaign against the Takfiri and terrorism tendencies.
The Syrian envoy also referred to Iran as the main ally in perseverance and support for the Syrian nation and lauded the fundamental role of Iranian Supreme Leader, government, Parliament and nation in supporting the Syrian government and nation.
