Araghchi: Israel’s battlefield efforts inadequate, compelling them to engage in negotiations with Hamas

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has stated that Israel failed to meet its goals during its assault on the Gaza Strip. He highlighted that the situation forced Israel to enter negotiations with the Palestinian resistance group Hamas.
During his address at the closing ceremony of the conference “Al-Aqsa Storm and Gaza: Realities and Narratives” in Tehran on Tuesday, Araghchi underscored the crucial role that narratives and narrative construction play in shaping foreign policy.
He emphasized that diplomacy and on-the-ground operations are interconnected and work cohesively.
In a recent statement, Araghchi emphasized the significant influence the media holds in shaping diplomatic narratives. He remarked that even if diplomatic initiatives succeed both in negotiations and on the ground, a failure to effectively manage media representation could transform these successes into perceived failures, and conversely, effective media engagement could enhance diplomatic efforts.
He emphasized that the sectors of diplomacy and media must collaborate effectively, with each playing a crucial role in this partnership.
Araghchi stated that during his recent tenure at the Foreign Ministry, there was a seamless integration between their on-the-ground initiatives and diplomatic endeavors.
“Our diplomatic efforts are integral to our strategy, and our strategy is fundamentally aligned with those efforts. Furthermore, we have the support of the media in our endeavors,” he stated.
In a statement regarding the Palestinian-led Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, Araghchi claimed that Israel’s actions in Gaza yielded no substantial gains, while emphasizing that the Resistance demonstrated superior effectiveness on the battlefield.
In a recent statement, he emphasized that resistance represents both an ideal and an educational journey, one that cannot be extinguished through mere bombardments or acts of violence. He underlined that the true power of the resistance does not stem from traditional military arsenals, but rather from the sacrifice made by its martyrs.
According to official statements by Araghchi, Israel has entered negotiations with Hamas following a 16-month period of conflict with the Palestinians.
He observed that there were calls for the International Criminal Court (ICC) to label Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a war criminal.
