Archbishop Hanna Affirms Palestine’s Commitment to Honoring Martyr Sayyed Nasrallah’s Sacrifices

Archbishop Atallah Hanna, the Greek Orthodox Archbishop of Sebastia in occupied Palestine, delivered a solemn eulogy honoring the Nation’s Master of Martyrs, His Eminence Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah, the Secretary-General of Hezbollah.

In the coming days, Lebanon is poised to host a significant and exceptional event—the funeral of His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, alongside the martyrs who stood beside him. In a statement, a spokesperson highlighted the profound respect and honor accorded to Sayyed Nasrallah, his companions, and associates, for their unwavering support and defense of Palestine. The speaker affirmed the loyalty of the Palestinian people to the sacrifices made by His Eminence and his comrades.

Expressing heartfelt condolences from the core of their revered city, Palestinian leaders reiterated their unwavering gratitude to those who have supported their cause during challenging periods. They voiced concerns over what they perceive as an ongoing conspiracy against Palestine, alleging efforts by adversaries to force Palestinian displacement and eradicate their cause. However, Palestinian representatives firmly stated their resolve, emphasizing that surrender is not an option within their cultural lexicon. They remain committed to their rights, principles, and beliefs, standing united in resistance.

Archbishop Hanna emphasized the unity and solidarity of the people, describing them as one family and nation united against colonial endeavors that threaten not only Palestine but the broader region. He reiterated that Palestine remains the guiding principle, and urged those whose priorities differ to recalibrate their focus towards supporting Palestine.

In a heartfelt appeal to unity amidst challenging times, the call was issued for national cohesion among all citizens, regardless of religious or sectarian affiliations. The statement emphasized the imperative need for Christians, Muslims, and members of all denominations and sects to stand together as one nation. It warned against falling prey to attempts aimed at fostering division and sectarian discord, which could aid the implementation of colonial strategies akin to “divide and rule.” Such tactics, the message cautioned, are designed to fracture communities and accelerate colonial agendas targeting Palestine and the broader region.

In a resounding statement, Archbishop Hanna emphasized the unity of Christians and Muslims in the region, declaring their unwavering solidarity as a single nation. “Our compass is Al-Quds, our cause is Palestine,” he asserted, urging vigilance against any attempts to sow division or fragmentation. He affirmed, “We are one family—this is how we have always been, and how we shall continue to be.”
