As Israeli genocide nears one year, global Gaza support intensifies
Even after 11 months, pro-Palestine protesters persist in filling the streets all over the world, driven by the harrowing stories emerging from Gaza amid the ongoing genocide in the Strip.
The streets of London were alive with a massive protest led by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign. Demonstrators carried powerful banners reading: “Stop the War” and “End the Genocide,” calling for an end to the violence and humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
The rally, which drew large crowds, showcased a strong show of solidarity with the Palestinian people and highlighted the urgent need for international action to address the ongoing Israeli aggression.
Before the march, which concluded near the Israeli embassy, police initially tried to postpone it by two hours. However, facing pressure, they ultimately relented at the last moment.
In Cardiff, Wales, and at Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester, pro-Palestine activists organized protests to denounce the ongoing Israeli genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.
From the UK to South Korea, pro-Palestine demonstrators staged two rallies in both the northern and southern parts of Seoul, calling for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
Simultaneously, a massive protest took place at a square near the Geneva Post Office before marching to the historic Palais Wilson, which houses the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights on the shores of Lake Geneva.
Carrying Palestinian flags, the demonstrators voiced their anger over the ongoing Israeli aggression and highlighted the impact on civilians and children. They chanted against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, US President Joe Biden, and countries supporting the aggression, calling for an immediate ceasefire and an end to what they described as the genocide in Gaza.
The demonstration, which lasted around two and a half hours, concluded peacefully as participants dispersed.
