Battery change, cause of explosion in coal mine
The blast in the coal mine in Zemestan Yurt was due to the spark made by changing the battery of the locomotive for wagons inside the tunnel, Labor Minister Ali Rabiei said.
‘There were some technical difficulties with the batteries in the depth of 700 meters and changing the batteries was carried out inside the tunnel rather than outside of it and that triggered the explosion,” Rabiei said on Thursday.
“However, the fact-finding committee for this incident will precisely investigate this issue,” he also said.
The Minister also announced of the human committee activities to take care of the families of the wounded in the mine.
There was an explosion in Zemestan Yurt coal mine in Azadshahr County, Golestan Province due to accumulated gas which led to the death of 22 miners and 72 wounded
