Beirut: Unwavering Support to Resistance as Scholars Meet in Pro-Palestine Conference
Muslim scholars met on Monday for a pro-Palestine conference in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, stressing unwavering support to the resistance against the Israeli enemy.
Entitled “Concrete Structure – The True Promise,” the conference was organized by the International Union of Resistance Scholars in Beirut, and attended by scholars and prominent figures from different Muslim and Arab countries.
Speaking on behalf the Palestinian and Lebanese resistance, the attendees stressed that the resistance is the only way to deter the Israeli enemy.
Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem addressed Israeli threats of prolonged aggression, stressing that the Resistance’s “answer is resilience and confrontation.”
“If you commit any folly, I assume that it (the battle) will be an updated version of July 2006,” Sheikh Qassem addressed the conference in remarks carried by Al-Manar.
He affirmed that Hezbollah believes “that all these sufferings as well as the legendary steadfastness will lead to victory.”
“The enemy is deterred when the resistance is ready and present at the forefront of the fight.”
“What’s Not Achieved on Ground Won’t Be Achieved in Politics”
For his part, Mohammad Al-Hindi, the Deputy Secretary General of the Islamic Jihad Palestinian resistance group, stressed that the Zionist entity has failed to crush the resistance and did not succeed in recovering captives.
“After 5 months, ‘Israel’ failed to achieve any of its declared goals.”
“It is ironic that the US gives weapons to ‘Israel’ and throws crumbs of food to the Palestinians,” he said, noting that “even if the truce deal in Gaza passes, the battle will not stop.”
“This confrontation will increase the Palestinian people’s resilience, strength, and ability to face future challenges. At the end of this round, Israel’s influence in the region and the world will diminish.”
Meanwhile, Hamas Representative in Lebanon Osama Hamdan affirmed that “it is the duty of our brothers in the neighboring countries to take the initiative to break the siege on the Gaza Strip.”
“We assure the Zionists and the United States that what is not achieved on the ground will not be achieved by the machinations of politics.”
He noted that the resistance launched Operation Al-Aqsa Flood when the Israeli occupation was seeking to liquidate the Palestinian issue.
“The Al-Aqsa Flood Battle revealed the true face of the US administration and the falsity of what it calls for in terms of freedom and human rights.”
The Hamas senior official in Lebanon reiterated that the Palestinian resistance group is flexible in negotiations out of concern for its people. However, he stressed that Hamas “is fully prepared to defend its people.”
On the other hand, Head of the International Union of Resistance Scholars Sheikh Maher Hammoud affirmed that “it is the duty of scholars to play a key role in the battle of resistance against the Israeli enemy.”
