Boroujerdi: Iran will continue to support Syria against terrorist war
Chairman of the Foreign Policy and National Security Committee at the Iranian Shura Council, Alaeddin Boroujerdi, reiterated his country’s support for Syria’s leadership, people, army and government in facing the terrorist war waged upon them.
In an interview given to al-Manar TV on Friday, Boroujerdi said that his visit to Syria and Lebanon seeks to send a message accentuating Iran’s support for the Syrian people and for Lebanon as well.
He said that Iran is confident that Syria will emerge soon from its ordeal with its head held high after eliminating terrorists, noting that there are mutual interests between the terrorists and the Israeli enemy which hosted them in its hospitals and supported them.
Boroujerdi also said that Arab and foreign sides are funding and arming terrorists and pushing them to sneak into Syria to wage terrorist attacks, but all this will be useless as these terrorists and their supporters will be defeated by the Syrian Arab Army.
He reaffirmed that the Syrian people alone have a say in deciding upon their destiny and their government away from any foreign interference, and that the political solution is the only way out of the crisis in Syria.
Boroujerdi also warned that the western countries sending terrorists to Syria will suffer at the hands of these terrorists themselves, as terrorism has become a real threat, adding that these terrorists merely carry out the plans made far from the region.
He opined that after the end of the war on it, Syria will emerge much stronger than before and this will prompt certain sides to revaluate their actions, asserting that the only one who benefits from the war on Syria is the Israeli enemy.
