Breaking: Syrian Army, Hezbollah impose fire control over ISIS stronghold in southeast Syria
Following a major advance in the Badiya Al-Sham region this evening, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and their allies from the National Defense Forces (NDF) and Hezbollah continued their push deep into the Islamic State’s (ISIS) desert pocket.
Backed by heavy airstrikes, the Syrian Army and their allies were able to advance further in Badiya Al-Sham, liberating two areas from the Islamic State terrorists before approaching the group’s stronghold.
According to the latest report from the NDF, the Syrian forces are now within 15 kilometers (KM) of Al-Kara’a, which is the Islamic State’s stronghold and a major point in the Al-Sweida part of the Badiya Al-Sham region.
As a result of this advance, the Syrian Army and their allies now possess fire control over Al-Kara’a, leaving the Islamic State forces at the mercy of the government’s troops.
