BRICS countries support Palestine’s full membership in the UN
Moscow, SANA- The foreign ministers of the BRICS countries have issued a joint statement supporting Palestine’s full membership in the UN.
The statement was issued at the end of their meeting in Nizhny Novgorod in Russia, with foreign ministers affirming the importance of the creation of “a sovereign, independent and viable State of Palestine in line with the internationally recognized borders of June 1967, with Jerusalem “al-Quds” as its capital.
Last May, The UN General Assembly voted in favour of supporting Palestine’s bid for full UN membership, with 143 votes in favour, nine against and 25 abstentions.
