Bullies will regret threatening Iranian nation: President Rouhani
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani says the millions-strong marches underway across the country are a response to “untrue remarks” by the new authorities in the White House, saying bullying powers will regret threatening the great Iranian nation.
He was speaking to reporters on Friday morning during a large demonstration in Tehran marking the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
Through their presence, he added, people are showing the world that the Iranian nation must be addressed through the “language of respect and dignity,” and not “the language of bullying and threats.”
He later addressed the crowd of demonstrators at Tehran’s Azadi Square, where he slammed “the tyrannical pressure of ill-wishers” over the Islamic Republic in the post-Revolution era.
