Dara’a: Syrian Air Force Distributes Leaflets Over the Village of Abta’a
The Syrian Arab Air Force (SAAF) airdropped hundreds of leaflets over the village of Abta’a in the Dara’a Governorate that read about the coming liberation of this rugged area in the coming weeks. The recent capture of Dilli and the East District of Sheikh Miskeen has paved the way for the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) 5th and 7th Divisions to begin another assault on the rebel-held village of Abta’a. If successful, the SAA can attempt to recapture the city of Nawa along with the rest of Sheikh Miskeen that is located near the their primary supply line.
On Wednesday morning, the city of Sheikh Miskeen was engulfed in violence, as the SAA (5th and 7th Divisions) and the Al-Nusra Front (Jabhat Al-Nusra) resumed their tug-of-war battle for this imperative area. Following the SAA’s capture of the East District of the city, members of the 12th Brigade infiltrated the Al-Nusra Front’s defenses and entered the West District; this came at a high cost of human life for both parties because of the unavoidable barrage of gunfire and artillery shells they exchanged.
Once the tumultuous sound of gunshots simmered down, the SAA was now near the city-center of Sheikh Miskeen. The SAA would continue their onslaught by conducting a series of raids on Al-Nusra Front positions; specifically, in the vicinity of their primary weapons hub that is used to resupply their embattled fighters.
