Diplomacy sole solution to Syrian crisis: FM Spokesman
Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi condemned John Kirby’s comments of US mulling over aborting diplomacy and using militancy in Syria.
“Six year of war, murder of innocent and defenseless Syrians, destruction of all infrastructures, and dislocating the Syrian nation have proved to futility of using violence and bloodshed and fruitfulness of spreading terrorism and extremism,” reiterated Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Bahram Ghasemi.
The Iranian diplomat made the remark following the US Department of State spokesperson John Kirby’s comments on Thursday that the United States is still considering military options in Syria. Since the time Syrian forces along the Russian have moved forward successfully to counter terrorists in the eastern part of the city of Aleppo, the US is repeating threats to abort diplomatic efforts to deal with the crisis and consider military options.
“Peaceful solutions especially Syrian-Syrian talks should be prioritized in political resolution of the crisis in Syria,” Ghasemi advised all the parties involved in the crisis especially the cross-regional countries interfering in the war-torn Arab country.
He asserted that certainly all sides will come to the conclusion that diplomacy and dialogue are the sole solutions to the Syrian crisis.
