Dozens of families from Douma flee terrorists, seek Syrian army’s protection
Dozens of families from Douma area in Damascus Countryside managed to escape areas under the control of armed terrorists groups and sought protection at military checkpoints.
A source at the Damascus Police Command told SANA that units of the Syrian Army managed to evacuate about 107 persons on Friday from al-Shifonyeh and Housh al-Fara, which are located to the east of Douma.
Later, the families were transported to housing centers in the area of al-Dweir.
More than 5,000 people have fled areas under control of the terrorists in several parts of Damascus Countryside in the last week alone, in addition to 800 gunmen from the same areas who had turned themselves in to the authorities.
