Egyptian Politician: Israel Main Supporter of Terrorism in Region
A senior Egyptian politician strongly criticized the Cairo government for sending its envoy back to Tel Aviv, saying that Israel is the main sponsor of terrorism in the region.
“Israel is the top supporter of terrorism in the region and it is the main cause of the widespread terrorist attacks along borders with Egypt,” former Egyptian MP Jamal Zahran told FNA on Saturday.
He noted that after signing the Camp David agreement, the Egyptian army was no more allowed to advance in the Sina which in turn resulted in the appearance of terrorist groups in there and struck a blow at Egypt’s stability.
Zahran, meantime, criticized the Egyptian government for its decision to send back its ambassador to Tel Aviv while one of the most important demands of the people in their January revolution was cutting ties with the Quds Occupying Regime.
In relevant remarks in 2013, Iranian Ambassador to Beirut Qazanfar Roknabadi blasted the US and its allies’ warmongering policies against Syria, saying that they have planned a war Damascus in a bid to protect Israel’s security.
“Safeguarding the Zionist regime’s security is the main goal of the warmongers in the region,” Roknabadi said in a meeting with the World Armenians Archbishop Jasliq Aram in Beirut.
He further reminded the world public opinion and most governments’ opposition to the war against Syria, and said today religious leaders bear the important responsibility of illuminating the public opinion in support of the righteous sides in the world, specially in the Syrian issue, and emphasizing the necessity of opposition to the use of force against that country.
