Final Syrian Army reinforcements arrive in east Aleppo for offensive against ISIL
The last of the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) reinforcements have arrived to the eastern countryside of Aleppo for the ongoing offensive against the Islamic State (ISIL) forces, Al-Masdar’s Ibrahim Joudeh reported on Tuesday.
These reinforcements were comprised of soldiers from the elite Tiger Forces that were recently participating in the Syrian Army’s operations in the northern countryside of the Hama Governorate.
With the arrival of these last reinforcements, the Syrian Arab Army can speed-up their assault on the Islamic State militants in the Maskanah Plain, which is the latter’s last stronghold in the Aleppo Governorate.
Last night, the Syrian Arab Army liberated several points south of Jirah Airbase, giving them full control of the Deir Hafer Plain for the first time since 2012.
