Foreign Ministry: Statement of western representatives following meeting with UN envoy is disparate attempt to prolong crisis in Syria
Damascus, SANA-Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said on Thursday that what has been included in a joint statement by representatives of the US, Britain, France and Germany following their meeting with UN envoy for Syria, is nothing but a repetition and disparate attempt to prolong crisis in Syria and justify their violations of the country’s sovereignty and intervention in its domestic affairs.
“It is a paradox that those states haven’t mentioned UN Security Council Resolution No. 2253 on combating terrorism, nor resolution No. 2672 which stipulates support for the early recovery projects,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Thursday.
It added that means those states still support terrorism and hinder efforts to improve the humanitarian situation in Syria, particularly electricity which affects all aspects of life.
The statement added that if those countries really claim adherence to the humanitarian situation in Syria, they must firstly and immediately remove their inhuman and immoral unilateral coercive measures imposed on the Syrian people.
