Gaza Confronts Chilling Risk Amid ‘israeli’ Restrictions on Aid Distribution

The situation poses a significant risk to hundreds of thousands of Palestinian residents, particularly those whose homes were destroyed during the protracted 15-month conflict with Israel.

In a recent statement released on social media platform X, the agency reported that numerous Palestinian families remain in temporary shelters amid extensive destruction throughout the Gaza Strip. The situation has been further worsened by severe weather conditions, including torrential rains and strong winds, which have intensified their hardships.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) has reported that intense rainfall coupled with strong winds in Gaza have rendered hundreds of thousands vulnerable to harsh cold and wet weather conditions over the last 24 hours. Numerous families continue to reside in temporary shelters following extensive destruction in the region.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) has confirmed that its teams are actively delivering critical humanitarian aid across the region, supplying essential items such as tents, mattresses, blankets, and clothing to support the displaced communities.

The agency has disseminated footage capturing powerful winds tearing through the improvised tents of the displaced, constructed from cloth and nylon, and scattering personal belongings across the Al-Mawasi region, northwest of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.

Reports indicate that Israel’s obstruction of aid delivery to Gaza has significantly worsened the humanitarian situation within the territory.

On Thursday, medical sources reported that the death toll in the Gaza Strip has climbed to 47,583 since the onset of the Israeli occupation conflict on October 7, 2023. The victims predominantly comprise women and children.

According to the same sources, the death toll has escalated to 111,633 since the onset of hostilities. Numerous victims remain trapped beneath the rubble and on the roads, with ambulance and civil defense teams facing significant challenges in reaching them.

According to reports, 31 Palestinians have been confirmed dead and four others injured, following their arrival at hospitals in the Gaza Strip over the last 24 hours.

The death toll in the Gaza Strip has risen sharply to 47,583, with reports indicating that more than 111,633 individuals have sustained injuries.
