Government doing its best to help flood victims: President Rouhani
President Hassan Rouhani who has traveled to the flood-stricken areas in north-western Iran, says his government is doing its best to help the people and address problems of the flood victims.
Extending condolences to the bereaved families of the victims affected by the recent floods in East and West Azarbaijan as well as Ardebil and Kurdestan provinces, President Rouhani told reporters on Wednesday that from the very beginning following the devastating floods, in addition to sending aid workers, the government started assessing the damage left by the floods and taking necessary measures.
“It was necessary for me to personally visit the area and to directly examine what has been done to address the dire situation caused by the floods,’ President Rouhani said.
Yesterday, necessary funds were earmarked by the the government to help victims of the floods in Kurdestan, East and West Azarbaijan and Ardebil provinces, he added.
