Hamas: Gaza’s leadership is still intact and functioning at full capacity
Khaled Qaddoumi, the appointed representative of Hamas in Tehran, has declared that the group will resist any external efforts to influence the leadership of Palestine. He emphasized that the governance structure in Gaza remains fully functional and unaffected by outside pressures.

In a recent address to journalists at the Karachi Press Club, Qaddoumi asserted that Israel has halted the water supply to Gaza for a 15-day period, a situation he claims has been met with silence from the Muslim world. He further accused Israel of egregiously breaching the ceasefire agreement, as reported by the Pakistani news outlet, Minute Morror.
Qaddoumi recounted that Yasser Arafat steadfastly refused to cede the sacred city of Jerusalem to Israeli control and opposed the renunciation of the right of return for Palestinian refugees. He asserted that Arafat’s assassination was orchestrated as a consequence of his firm resistance to these demands.
He emphasized that Hamas militants successfully infiltrated 40 kilometers into occupied regions using gliders, showcasing their capabilities. Additionally, he noted that Hamas has effectively challenged Israel’s global narrative, pointing out that Israel has reportedly conceded the loss of 6,000 soldiers.
Qaddoumi declared that the Palestinian population remains resolute in their commitment to their homeland, asserting that the residents of Gaza are staunch supporters of Hamas. Despite the challenges faced by the 2.4 million Palestinians living in Gaza, only a small fraction, approximately 150,000 individuals, have left the region. Those who have departed primarily did so to seek medical treatment or pursue educational opportunities abroad.
He declared that Hamas adhered to Islamic principles in its treatment of Israeli prisoners, prioritizing their welfare, even as Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar reportedly went without food for three days. He further stated that the Zionist prisoners who were released were in sound health upon their liberation by Hamas.
In a recent assertion, Qaddoumi emphasized that Hamas will resist any attempts by external forces to influence the leadership of Palestine. He indicated their willingness to entrust the reconstruction of Gaza to a technocratic committee, while underscoring that the governance of Gaza remains stable and fully functional.
He highlighted Israel’s growing diplomatic isolation, referencing France’s decision to reject an Israeli delegation at the annual Holocaust conference, a move driven by public pressure. He also expressed gratitude towards Pakistan’s government and citizens for their steadfast humanitarian support for the Palestinian cause.
In a recent statement, Qaddoumi declared that the Al-Aqsa Storm operation signals a pivotal shift away from American influence in the Middle East. He underscored that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state is crucial for ensuring the security of Egypt and Jordan’s borders. Furthermore, he affirmed the robust ties between Hamas and Saudi Arabia.
