Hamas Issues Call for Global Siege of Israeli and US Embassies, Urges Unity

The Palestinian resistance organization, Hamas, headquartered in the Gaza Strip, has urged for widespread demonstrations and a coordinated international blockade of Israeli and American embassies worldwide. This call to action is in retaliation to what they describe as the Israeli government's ongoing, US-supported campaign of genocide against the Palestinian people.

On Tuesday, the movement released a statement calling upon the Arab and Islamic communities and “free people” worldwide to intensify their solidarity efforts in denouncing the recent resurgence of Israeli military actions in Gaza. The statement urged immediate pressure on both the Israeli government and its primary ally, the United States, to cease the ongoing offensive.

A statement has emerged condemning what has been described as the continuation of aggressive military actions by the occupying government in Gaza. The statement alleges these actions violate international norms and values, as well as religious laws, particularly during the sacred period of Ramadan.

The movement has laid out a strategy that includes various forms of protest and resistance, calling for widespread demonstrations in cities globally. It also advocates for coordinated actions targeting Israeli and American diplomatic missions.

The siege, according to the statement, was designed to exert “pressure on Tel Aviv and Washington through all available means to stop the aggression and the ongoing genocidal conflict against our Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip.”

The statement urged demonstrators to display Palestinian flags and rally resources in support of what it emphasized as the legitimate rights of Palestinians to achieve freedom, independence, and to demand an end to the concurrent oppressive blockade imposed by the regime on the coastal region.

Hamas has issued a call to action following a significant increase in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza, which contravene an existing ceasefire agreement between the organization and Tel Aviv. This ceasefire was intended to put a halt to ongoing hostilities, which erupted in October 2023 following a major resistance operation.

Palestinian health authorities report a devastating surge in casualties due to Israeli military operations on Tuesday, with 424 fatalities recorded, including 174 minors and 89 females. The assaults, which reportedly concentrated on residential structures, mosques, and shelters, also resulted in injuries to over 600 individuals.

The ongoing bombardments have intensified an existing humanitarian crisis, as medical supplies are depleting and border crossings have stayed shut for the 17th consecutive day.

The international community has intensified its calls for a ceasefire amid escalating global protests.

Netanyahu, whose government has benefited from significantly increased U.S. financial and military aid beyond the typical $3 billion annual support since the conflict began, has resisted calls to cease military operations. Netanyahu claims that the actions are focused on targeting Hamas militants.

Hamas issued a statement calling for worldwide solidarity, appealing for a unified response at Arab, Islamic, and international levels to stand collectively against what it describes as Zionist aggression and a genocidal war targeting over two million Palestinians in Gaza.
