Khalil al-Hayya, the deputy leader of Hamas in the Gaza Strip, has strongly denounced the assassination of Hezbollah Secretary-General Hasan Nasrallah and his associates, labeling the incident a “full-fledged terrorist act” and a “breach of Lebanon’s sovereignty.” Al-Hayya cautioned that this crime is likely to widen the scope of Israeli aggression in the region.
In a statement released on Saturday, Hayya asserted that the Israeli occupation’s actions would fail to diminish the resolve of the resistance. Instead, he indicated these acts would pave the way for “a new phase of holy retribution for the martyrs.”
Hayya has announced that Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah has been martyred following a lifetime of unwavering dedication to sacrifice and resistance. Despite the loss of his son and other loved ones, Nasrallah remained steadfast in his efforts, actively defending the dignity and sovereignty of his nation across all fronts, with a particular focus on Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
“Martyr Hasan Nasrallah has left a legacy of resilient individuals who are committed to carrying forward his mission towards Jerusalem,” Hayya stated.
The Hamas leader expressed strong confidence in Hezbollah’s capabilities, stating, “We are well acquainted with our brothers in Hezbollah, and we have faith in their swift organizational prowess and commitment to continue the legacy of Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah.”
“Hezbollah leadership institutions will remain intact despite any attempts by Zionist adversaries to create a vacuum, he asserted.”
