Head of Hamas Shura Council praises Iran’s backing for the Palestinian cause

Muhammad Ismail Darwish, the chairman of the Hamas Shura Council, the movement's supreme governing body, expressed gratitude for Iran's support of the Palestinian people.

He stated that the Al-Aqsa Storm operation marks a pivotal moment in the Palestinian struggle against the Israeli occupation regime.

Darwish stated that the efforts and ambitions of the Israeli occupation to disconnect the Palestinian population from their homeland through acts of war and alleged genocide, as well as other means, have proven ineffective and are anticipated to remain so.

He emphasized that the Palestinian population remains steadfastly connected to their ancestral land, resolutely upholding their rights, sacred sites, and the revered Al-Aqsa Mosque.

In a recent meeting, Iran’s Foreign Minister reiterated the Islamic Republic of Iran’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause. He stated that the steadfast resistance demonstrated by the people of Gaza has exposed the myth of the Israeli army’s invincibility on a global scale.

He stated that the residents of Gaza successfully executed a distinctive and heroic operation both in military endeavors and high-level negotiations, culminating in a ceasefire and a dignified prisoner exchange.

Iran’s Foreign Minister convened with additional representatives from the Hamas Shura Council and the Political Office of the organization during his visit to Doha.

Ahead of the meeting, Araghchi held discussions in Doha with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Jassim Al Thani.

During a high-level meeting with the Prime Minister of Qatar, the Foreign Minister of Iran engaged in discussions addressing regional developments and exploring avenues for enhancing bilateral relations.

The agenda for this trip includes a meeting with senior Hamas officials to discuss the latest developments in Palestine and to extend congratulations on what is being described as the monumental 16-month resistance of Al-Aqsa Storm, seen as a victory for the Palestinian people.
