Health Ministry: In the past 24 hours, 45 Palestinians killed and more than 100 injured in Gaza
The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip has reported that at least 45 individuals have been killed and 130 others injured within the past 24 hours. This follows ongoing Israeli military operations targeting residential areas and infrastructure throughout the region.
The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) has reported that nine members of the Farahat family lost their lives when an Israeli airstrike targeted the residence they were taking refuge in, located in the Shuja’iyya neighborhood, situated to the east of Gaza City.
Emergency medical teams have retrieved the bodies of three individuals, including a child, following an airstrike by Israeli military aircraft on the residence of the al-Jamal family located in the Nuseirat refugee camp, centrally situated in the Gaza Strip.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the ministry reported the updated casualty figures resulting from Israeli airstrikes in Gaza. According to the ministry, since the onset of hostilities by Israeli forces on October 7 of the previous year, a total of at least 42,010 individuals have lost their lives. Additionally, the ongoing military operations have left approximately 97,720 people injured.
In a recent publication, the Geneva-based Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor disclosed alarming findings, indicating that approximately 10 percent of Gaza’s populace has either been killed, injured, reported as missing, or detained amid ongoing Israeli military operations.
The report outlines a series of systematic acts of genocide allegedly carried out in Gaza, including the deliberate targeting and killing of civilians in their homes, shelters, displacement camps, and areas designated for humanitarian protection.
According to the report, in the aftermath of the October 7, 2023 assault, Israel announced a state of war, led by its President, Prime Minister, and other key political and military figures. The stated objectives were the eradication of Hamas, the liberation of hostages, and the reinstatement of security. This led to the launch of Operation Iron Swords, a vigorous military campaign that has exacerbated the hardships faced by civilians in Gaza.
