Hezbollah and the Syrian Army Advance in Al-Zabadani and the Damascus Countryside
The Syrian Arab Army’s 42nd and 63rd Brigades of the 4th Mechanized Division – in coordination with Hezbollah, the Palestine Liberation Army (PLA), the National Defense Forces (NDF), and the Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP) – advanced deeper inside Al-Zabadani, capturing a significant number of building blocks from the Islamist rebels of Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham and the Syrian Al-Qaeda “Jabhat Al-Nusra.”
On Wednesday morning, the Syrian Armed Forces and Lebanese Resistance established full control over a number of building blocks in Al-Zabadani; these included ‘Ayn al-Himma, Al-Maydani, Al-Kubra, and Al-Adaima.
Meanwhile, at the volatile Harasta front, the Syrian Arab Army’s 105th Brigade of the Republican Guard – in coordination with the National Defense Forces – destroyed a large tunnel that belonged to Jaysh Al-Islam, which was located near the Homs-Damascus Highway.
Following the destruction of this tunnel, the Syrian Armed Forces carried out a powerful assault on Jaysh Al-Islam’s positions at the imperative hilltop of Tal Abou Zayd that overlooks the Homs-Damascus Highway in the town of Harasta.
Not long after they launched this assault, Syrian Army units established control on Abou Zayd Hill and its surrounding hills that overlook the Damascus-Homs highway in Harasta.
According to a military source in Damascus, the Syrian Armed Forces killed over 20 enemy combatants on Wednesday, including two field commanders belonging to Jaysh Al-Islam.
