Hezbollah congratulates Syrian Army on southern Damascus victory
Hezbollah issued a statement on Wednesday that congratulated the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) on their victory in southern Damascus.
“We salute the success of the Syrian Army and their allies in eliminating the Daesh organization in this region. It is a major achievement to secure the suburbs of Damascus and its countryside from terrorists,” Hezbollah’s statement read.
Hezbollah did not participate in the East Ghouta or southern Damascus offensives; however, they played an imperative role in combating the Islamic State (Daesh) in the eastern part of the country.
The Lebanese organization officially joined the Syrian War in 2013, when their forces led the offensive to capture the strategic border region of Al-Qusayr.
