Hezbollah deploys new missile in latest anti-israeli operation
Hezbollah has deployed a new missile in its latest anti-Israeli operation in support of the Gaza Strip, which is enduring a genocidal Israeli war, and in retaliation for the Israeli regime’s aggression against Lebanon’s southern areas.
The Lebanese resistance movement announced the operation in a statement on Saturday, identifying the projectile in question as Falaq (Dawn)-2.
The operation, it added, “targeted the headquarters of the Sahel battalion in the Beit Hillel Barracks,” which is located in the northern part of the occupied Palestinian territories.
Following the onset of the war on Gaza, the Israeli regime began conducting sporadic attacks against Lebanon, which sparked a firefight with Hezbollah.
More than 36,801 Palestinians, most of them women and children, have been killed in the war that began after Al-Aqsa Storm, a retaliatory operation staged by Gaza’s resistance groups.
Completing its statement, Hezbollah said, “This is the first time that Hezbollah has used Falaq-2 missiles over the course of Al-Aqsa Storm.”
“Like the Falaq-1 missile, Falaq-2 operates on solid fuel and has highly destructive capability,” the movement added.
“While Falaq-1 is 240-mm in caliber, 1.25 meters in length, and uses a 50-kilogram warhead, Falaq-2 is faster and more destructive, with its 333-mm caliber, 1.82 meter length, and 117-kilogram warhead,” it noted.
On Tuesday, a Lebanese lawmaker from Hezbollah’s political wing was fully prepared for any possible scenarios, but ruled out the possibility of a full-scale war by the Israeli regime against the country.
Mohammad Raad, head of the Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc in the Lebanese Parliament, said the regime’s threats of military action against Lebanon was simply meant to improve Israeli forces’ morale amid the Gaza war.
