Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad hail Iran’s retaliatory strikes on occupied territories
The Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah has praised Iran’s “brave” decision to carry out retaliatory strikes on the Israel-occupied Palestinian territories following the regime’s recent deadly aggression on the Iranian diplomatic facilities in Syria.
Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) targeted Israel late on Saturday with a barrage of drones and missiles in response to the regime’s deadly assault on the consular section of the Iranian Embassy in Damascus on April 1.
The retaliatory attack, dubbed Operation True Promise, has inflicted damage on Israeli military bases across the occupied territories, but the extent of which is yet to be specified.
In a statement on Sunday, Hezbollah extended its congratulations to Iran’s leadership and nation on the unique and unprecedented attack targeting the Zionist entity and commended the brave and wise decision to respond decisively to the Israeli aggression on the Iranian consulate in Damascus.
“The Islamic Republic exercised its natural and legal right despite threats, intimidation, and pressures and fulfilled its truthful promise with unparalleled courage, great wisdom, and a high appreciation of the situation at the entire regional level, and even at the global level as well,” the statement said.
The Lebanese resistance movement underlined that the operation precisely achieved its specified military targets despite the participation of the United States, its international allies and regional tools in repelling the sudden attack.
“The political and strategic objectives of this significant development will gradually become apparent over time and will lay the groundwork for a new phase regarding the entire Palestinian cause and the historical struggle with this enemy on the path to the inevitable victory for our Arab and Islamic nation and the resisting and oppressed Palestinian people,” Hezbollah added.
Iran hit a large intelligence base in the occupied lands and Israel’s Nevatim Airbase, from where an F-35 jet took off to target Iran’s consulate in the Syrian capital.
