Hezbollah leader asserts that ‘israel’ persistently aimed to eliminate the group’s resistance efforts, but failed to do so
The secretary-general of Lebanon's Hezbollah movement has stated that Israel, which he referred to as an occupying regime, has continuously attempted to dismantle the resistance front through numerous aggressive campaigns, yet has consistently fallen short of achieving this goal.
In a televised address on Saturday evening, Sheikh Naim Qassem stated that the “Zionist adversary aims to eliminate any form of resistance that challenges its expansionist goals in the region.”
“He stated that Israeli attempts to dismantle the resistance front have been unsuccessful, proving that such actions cannot be considered a success.”
Hezbollah’s retaliatory rocket and drone strikes on what are identified as unlawful Israeli settlements in the northern region of the occupied territories have compelled tens of thousands of residents to evacuate to shelters, according to reports. The spokesperson highlighted that the Israeli regime’s primary means of impacting their side has been through the targeted assassination of their leadership.
Sheikh Qassem emphasized that Hezbollah had foreseen the possibility of Israeli military actions against Lebanon both in the lead-up to and following the unexpected and extensive operation launched by Gaza-based resistance factions, known as Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, against Israel on October 7 of the previous year. However, he noted that Hezbollah was not aware of the exact timing of this offensive.
In a recent statement, a spokesperson for Hezbollah attributed their triumph to the unwavering determination of resistance fighters and the sacrifices of martyrs. Emphasizing that surrender and humiliation are not options, the spokesman highlighted the powerful and spirited nature of Hezbollah’s resistance efforts.
The leader of Hezbollah has declared that the Lebanese resistance movement has endured significant sacrifices to steadfastly oppose the Israeli regime. He emphasized that the liberation of Lebanese territories under Israeli occupation can only be achieved through the path of resistance.
Sheikh Qassem emphasized that the Israeli military would have taken control of the Lebanese capital, Beirut, were it not for the sacrifices made by Hezbollah fighters.
In another segment of his address, the leader of Hezbollah highlighted the recent ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Lebanese organization. He noted that while the accord temporarily halted hostilities between Israeli forces and Hezbollah, it does not signify an end to the ongoing resistance against Israeli occupation.
Sheikh Qassem emphasized that the strategies and tactics of resistance can be adapted and interchanged. He asserted that, despite the setbacks faced, the resistance front is poised to emerge triumphant against Israel.
He stated that the future of resistance hinges on mass mobilization, strength, and steadfast determination in confronting adversaries.
The leader of Hezbollah stated that Israel aims to dominate the entire region, as seen in its efforts in Gaza and Syria. He described Israel as an expansionist adversary, highlighting its appropriation of extensive territory, including the occupied Golan Heights.
He emphasized that the Lebanese army has demonstrated significant sacrifice, with the loss of numerous soldiers in its efforts to uphold the sovereignty of the Arab nation.
Hezbollah maintains its strength and resilience, continuing to prosper despite facing numerous obstacles. The organization is unwavering and is swiftly rebounding. Predictions of its downfall have proven to be unfounded, leaving critics disillusioned.
Sheikh Qassem has announced a commitment to actively engage with state institutions in Lebanon’s reconstruction efforts and expressed a serious intention to facilitate the election of a new president.
In addressing the situation in Syria, he remarked that Hezbollah’s backing of the nation is rooted in its steadfast resistance to Israeli initiatives.
Following the collapse of Bashar al-Assad’s government, there is anticipation for the establishment of a new administration to outline its policies and strategic direction. There is an expressed hope that the new Syrian leadership will enhance collaboration between Syria and Lebanon, grounded in equality and mutual respect, he stated.
He further anticipated that Syria’s interim government would regard Israel as an adversary and abstain from normalizing diplomatic relations with the Tel Aviv administration.
Sheikh Qassem has asserted that the recent developments unfolding in Syria are unlikely to exert any considerable influence on the situation in Lebanon.
