Hezbollah overpowers Nusra in east Lebanon
Hezbollah carried out a powerful assault in the Jaroud ‘Arsal region of east Lebanon, killing several members of the Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra” at the village of Al-Kassarat. According to a source from the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in the Qalamoun Mountains, Hezbollah began their latest assault after locals reported that Jabhat Al-Nusra claimed control of Al-Kassarat on Wednesday morning.
Following the confrontation, Jabhat Al-Nusra was forced to abandon several checkpoints they setup around the village in order to evade Hezbollah’s snipers. Clashes are still ongoing between the two parties, as Hezbollah continues their onslaught around Jaroud ‘Arsal. The village of Al-Kassarat can be found at the southeastern corner of Jaroud ‘Arsal, near the Syrian-Lebanese border-crossing into Jaroud Faleeta
