Hezbollah: Trump’s proposed plan for displacement in Gaza doomed to fail

Hezbollah has issued a sharp condemnation of former US President Donald Trump's recent suggestion advocating for the forced displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip. The group criticized the proposal, labeling it as a continuation of discriminatory, eliminationist, and authoritarian ideologies that jeopardize basic human rights globally.

In a strongly-worded statement released on Friday, the Lebanese resistance movement sharply criticized former U.S. President Donald Trump for allegedly trying to “rewrite history.” The group accused Trump of supporting the forced removal of Palestinians from their homeland, likening this stance to the historical displacement and extermination of indigenous populations in the Americas.

A Remarkable Contemporary Saga of Unyielding Determination

Hezbollah has asserted that, despite continuous military offensives, the Palestinian population remains resilient and unyielding in the face of the combined American-Israeli military efforts.

The organization praised Gaza’s resistance, characterizing it as a remarkable and unwavering struggle, during which Palestinians have made significant sacrifices to resist any efforts of displacement and exile.

“The resilience of the Palestinian populace has surpassed all efforts to force their displacement,” the statement asserted. It further emphasized that what adversaries could not accomplish through warfare would not be realized through misleading promises of a ‘better life elsewhere’ for the residents of Gaza.

During a Tuesday address at the White House with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former President Donald Trump announced that the United States would take responsibility for the reconstruction of damaged buildings and the removal of unexploded ordnance in Gaza. He also indicated plans for the relocation of Palestinian residents from the region.

He stated that the United States intends to assume control over the Gaza Strip and manage it effectively.

“Allegations of an Expanding Zionist-American Alliance”

The movement has issued a cautionary statement regarding former President Donald Trump’s proposal, characterizing it as an integral component of a wider colonial initiative. According to the movement, this initiative seeks to entirely cleanse Palestinian territories of their ethnic composition. If this proposal proceeds unimpeded, it could potentially result in the widespread expulsion of residents from the occupied West Bank, as well as Palestinians residing in the territories occupied since 1948.

The organization urged Arab and Islamic countries to swiftly implement concrete actions to oppose the proposed plan, cautioning that inaction could ultimately threaten their sovereignty, resources, and populations.

Hezbollah has warned that if the proposed measure is successful, it may establish a precedent with potential consequences that reach beyond Palestine, posing risks to the independence and stability of the broader region.

‘Palestinians Assert Commitment to Maintain Sovereignty’

Hezbollah has reiterated its position that former U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan is destined for failure, emphasizing that Palestinians, supported by conscientious and liberty-loving individuals globally, will remain resolute in their homeland.

The statement concluded with a defiant message, asserting that neither former President Donald Trump, despite his influence and alleged conspiracies, nor his allies would succeed in undermining the Palestinian resolve. It emphasized that Gaza and Palestine would endure as the homeland of their people, and their ongoing struggle would continue to inspire nations worldwide in their pursuit of justice and fundamental rights.

**International Outcry Over Forced Displacement**

Former President Donald Trump’s statements have ignited strong criticism throughout the Arab and Islamic communities, as many perceive them as a clear endorsement of ethnic cleansing.

Regional leaders have reiterated their unwavering support for Palestinians, strongly opposing any efforts to alter the geopolitical landscape of the West Asia region through forced displacements and demographic manipulation.

Analysts have indicated that the recent position adopted by the United States may increasingly alienate Washington from the broader discourse on the Palestinian issue. Notably, even some of its longstanding allies have expressed discomfort with the unwavering American endorsement of Israel’s expansionist strategies.
