Indirect Iran-US talks to continue next week: Iran FM

The Iranian Foreign Ministry has said in a statement that indirect talks with the United States ended in Oman on Saturday with the parties agreeing to continue the talks next week.
Iranian and United States delegations are holding talks in Oman’s capital, Muscat, to discuss the Iranian nuclear program.
The Iranian Foreign Minister said before the talks got underway that Iran is seeking a “fair agreement” with Washington.
“Our intention is to reach a fair and honorable agreement on an equal footing,” Abbas Araghchi said on Iranian state television on Saturday, according to the Middle East Eye.
He said there was “a chance” of reaching a compromise “if the other side” adopts the same position.
Heading an Iranian delegation, Araghchi is in Muscat to hold indirect talks with the US delegation headed by United States Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff.
On Saturday morning, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his Omani counterpart, Badr bin Hamad al-Busaidi, conferred on the arrangement for the indirect talks.
The indirect talks are mediated by al-Busaidi.
Negotiations end with no results come out yet
A member of the Iranian negotiating team told local Iranian media ISNA that the process of indirect talks between Iran and Oman has so far been good in general.
The two sides agreed that these talks would continue next week, said a statement of the Iranian Foreign Ministry issued on the telegram channel of the Foreign Ministry.
“It is worth noting that after the end of more than two and a half hours of indirect talks, the heads of the Iranian and American delegations spoke for a few minutes in the presence of the Omani Foreign Minister as they were leaving the venue of the talks,” the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s statement said.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry also said that “indirect talks between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America were on the issue of lifting sanctions and the nuclear issue.”
Talks continuing for over two hours, to go on in coming hours
About 2 hours have passed since the indirect talks between Iran and the United States, and the talks are expected to continue in the coming hours, the reported of the national Iranian TV reported from Muscat.

He added that the team that came with him was made up of experts “knowledgeable in this particular field and who have a history of negotiating on this issue”.
Araghchi said the talks were “indirect” and limited to the question of their nuclear program.
