Iran and Pakistan have committed to strengthening their efforts in the fight against terrorism: Iran FM

Following discussions with Pakistani officials concerning recent activities of terrorist organizations in the area, Araghchi issued a statement upon concluding his visit to the neighboring nation.

The senior Iranian diplomat reported on Wednesday that constructive discussions and successful agreements were reached during recent meetings. He stated that there was an exchange of perspectives on regional matters, noting that Iran and Pakistan are largely aligned in their stances regarding regional developments.

Araghchi emphasized that extensive discussions were held with Pakistani officials concerning regional matters. These talks covered the situation in Afghanistan and addressed the challenge of terrorism affecting the border areas of both nations. Additionally, there was a focus on the necessity for coordinated efforts between Iran and Pakistan.

In a statement highlighting the “close link” between regional terrorist groups and Israel, the Iranian Foreign Minister reported that simultaneous to Israel’s aggressive actions against Iran, terrorist groups were notably active, resulting in the deaths of ten Iranian police officers.

In a statement, Araghchi emphasized that the Pakistani government shares a mutual understanding with Iran on this matter, and both nations have resolved to intensify efforts and enhance coordination in combating terrorist groups.

An Iranian diplomat reported that comprehensive discussions have been conducted concerning bilateral relations, emphasizing numerous areas for potential collaboration between Tehran and Islamabad. These discussions cover sectors such as economic, political, cultural, and social cooperation.

He stated that the relationship between the citizens of the two nations is vibrant and highly positive.

Iran and Pakistan have underscored the urgent need to halt what they describe as the longstanding acts of genocide and violence perpetrated by the Israeli regime against Palestinians, according to Araghchi. Both nations are committed to addressing this issue earnestly within international platforms.

Iran’s Foreign Minister commenced a two-day official visit to the capital of Pakistan on Monday night.

Earlier on Tuesday, discussions were held between him and the Finance Minister of Pakistan, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, with a primary focus on addressing allegations of genocide associated with the Zionist regime. Furthermore, he engaged in dialogues with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, where they explored various subjects, including collaborative efforts in combating terrorism.

In a tragic incident on October 26, ten Iranian border guards lost their lives following a terrorist assault in Iran’s southeastern Sistan and Baluchestan province, situated near the border with Pakistan.

Provincial authorities reported that armed assailants launched an unexpected assault on law enforcement vehicles in the Gohar Kuh district of Taftan County, engaging in gunfire.

The terrorist organization Jaish al-Adl, reportedly based in Pakistan, has assumed responsibility for a recent attack situated approximately 1,200 kilometers southeast of Iran’s capital, Tehran. This incident is regarded as one of the most severe attacks in the region in recent months.
