Iran Army cmdr blasts US unfaithful treatment of JCPOA
Iran’s Army commander said on Wednesday that the US May 8 decision on leaving the 2015 nuclear deal proved Washington is not loyal in meeting its commitments.
‘It was a big loss to legitimize engaging in talks with the Americans on the Iran Deal, while the big benefit obtained was demonstration of a fact that they do not honor their commitments,’ Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi said in a gathering in the Iranian capital city of Tehran on Wednesday.
US President Donald Trump on May 8 announced his decision about the Iran Deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and withdrew his country unilaterally from the international agreement. Many world powers including Russia, China, and the European Union are against Trump’s decision.
The Iranian Army commander went on to warn Saudi Arabia to take a lesson from the US treatment of the international nuclear deal between Iran and the major world powers and stop trying to please Americans.
‘Thank God US left the Iran Deal,’ Mousavi said, adding that it is an inherent nature of the hegemonic systems to make others abandon their principles.
But they will never succeed, he said.
If we continue to maintain our principled stance, we will be the ultimate winner, the commander stressed.
