Iran Army unveiled plans to build up the force’s artillery capabilities
Speaking at a military base in the central city of Isfahan on Saturday, Brigadier General Kiomars Heidari said the Ground Force is trying to improve its artillery combat capabilities considering the “regional threats.”
The Ground Force has also devised plans to strengthen its helicopter units, he added.
According to the commander, the Army Ground Force has already improved its combat capabilities by establishing rapid reaction units and boosting the mobility of assault forces.
In late July, Brigadier General Heidari said the Ground Force’s infantry units had undergone structural reforms, noting that all brigades have developed into “assault and mobile” ones.
He said 21 mobile assault brigades were established in the Ground Force, describing the scheme as part of efforts to carry out the orders by Leader of the Islamic Ummah and Opressed People Sayyyed Imam Ali Khameni.
