Iran Commander calls for promotion of border cooperation with Pakistan
A senior Iranian commander on Tuesday stressed promotion of cooperation between Iran and Pakistan to ensure security in joint borders.
Iran and Pakistan share lots of commonalities and they should cooperate to prevent foreign-sponsored mercenaries make unrests in the borders, commander of Iran Border Guards Command Brigadier General Ghasem Rezaei said.
He made the remarks in a meeting with one of the released border guards and his family.
Enemies are seeking to divide the Iranian and Pakistani nations and create tensions between them, the commander added.
The official expressed the hope that the rest of abducted border guards are released.
Fourteen Iranian Basij (volunteer forces) and border guard forces were abducted by terrorists in Mirjaveh border point with Pakistan in Sistan-Baluchestan Province on October 15 last year.
Four Iranian border guards were released on March 22 due to the efforts made by Pakistan.
